A poetic, pseudo-clinical, and cultural meditation on ADHD, Blackness, and neurodivergence. This chapter critiques disparate treatment based on the body neurodivergence is wrapped in, centers the lived experience of what some call ‘neurospiciness’—a term for the sensory-rich, fast-firing minds often pathologized rather than prized, and reclaims neurodivergence, even when masked, as a superpower—not dysfunction.
Disclaimer: I’m not a certified psychiatrist, simply an expert at my own neurodivergence in a brown body within a Black or white world.
